A few words about us Private medical center
Men’s Hormone Therapy is a Private Health Clinic specializing in hormone replacement therapy in men run by Dr Giannoulis, a highly qualified Greek Endocrinologist, (hormone doctor). He has studied medicine in the university of Timisoara Romania where he graduated with an excellent grade before he started his fellowship in internal medicine in Thessaloniki, Greece. Shortly afterwards he joined the world famous department of endocrinology at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, where he gained an unparalleled experience in dealing with a wide spectrum of endocrine diseases and his passion for the endocrinology was developed.
After a short spell in Thessaloniki Greece at Ippokrateion Hospital, he continued his training in endocrinology into the prestigious department of endocrinology –diabetes and internal medicine at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital in London. Receiving a highly profile training in all fields of endocrinology he further developed his research and academic interests. He was appointed Lecturer and taught endocrinology in undergraduate and postgraduate students and he completed his medical research thesis MD in the University of London.
He worked in the development of the concept in a series of studies, regarding the hormone replacement treatment in healthy elderly men . As a result, he was awarded with substantial grants from the Trustees of Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital and by creating a strong research team around him had shown that co-administration of growth hormone and testosterone in near physiological replacement doses, in carefully selected healthy men could confer clinical benefits with no serious adverse effects.
This was of great importance as it was the first placebo control study to check the combined hormone replacement treatment effect. Previous studies had shown that when each of these agents was tested separately the results produced more questions than answers. Furthermore, it was designed to test a near physiological replacement rather than a drug effect, therefore acquired clinical applicability. These results were met with great interest by the medical community and reignite the scientific debate of hormone replacement therapy in men.
He eventually decided to dedicate most of his time to private medicine and returned to Thessaloniki, Greece where he has established a busy private practice dealing with a wide spectrum of endocrine diseases. Recently, he has set up Men’s Hormone Therapy, a Private Medical Clinic specializing in hormone replacement therapy in men.
